Research

My research focuses on understanding how molecular architecture impacts the nanoscale aqueous self-assembly behaviors of gemini surfactants into functional lyotropic liquid crystals. Specifically, I seek to develop gemini surfactants that will serve as useful and robust templates for the formation of mesoporous silicates with unusual morphologies and new properties.
